Bug Logging SOP
The purpose of this SOP is to support the development team with efficient indemnification of bugs, which will allow for stronger and better fixes for bugs.
Step-by-Step Bug Logging Process
1. Identify the Bug

Confirm it’s a bug (not a feature, config issue, or user error).

Reproduce it at least once to confirm consistency.

Does the bug appear on more than one device (mobile, desktop etc)
- Open Zoho Projects
- Navigate to the project in question and start the bug logging by typing {Client name + Bug: Short title}
- Adding the bug information: In the description, include the following titles (bold)
Description: Add a short, clear description of the bug. Please also include any screenshots
Expected result: Add in here what you believe should happen
Steps to recreate bug: This is the most important of all the elements and will allow the developer to recreate. Sometimes, it’s better to include a short video.
Device/Browser: Please ensure you add in the device and spec
Environment: Staging or live
Who found the bug: Was it you or did the client raise this, Please include any key communication with the client.
Note: If you can fix the bug, you should, please do not escalate to the development team
- Assign to Purple Orbit For Triage and Fixing
- Assigned back For Testing
Test test test and close bug if the bug is fixed.
If the bug is not fixed, reassign with clear and concise reason why its not fixed
Tips for Smooth Bug Logging
- Be clear and concise.
- Always include reproduction steps.
- Group related bugs together if needed.
- Avoid vague titles like “Page not working.”
